Biometric Officer

SIMBA Group, a partner of VAS Global Services, is recruiting two Biometric Officers to support Visa Application Centre (VAC) operations in Kampala. In this role you will be responsible for the accurate and compliant capture of biometric data—including fingerprints and photographs—from visa applicants, strictly following international security and data protection protocols. This is a precision-critical role suited to someone with a customer service mindset and a strong commitment to accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect biometric data from visa applicants—including fingerprints and photographs—with zero errors and in full compliance with security regulations
• Maintain efficient processing turnaround times without compromising accuracy or applicant experience
• Guide applicants through each step of the biometric procedure in a professional and reassuring manner
• Operate and maintain biometric equipment to ensure consistent functionality and accuracy at all times
• Safeguard all sensitive applicant data in strict accordance with confidentiality and data security protocols

Requirements

• A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent (at least 12 years of formal education); a graduate qualification is preferred
• Prior experience working with biometric systems is an advantage
• Demonstrated commitment to accuracy and detail in data collection tasks
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Customer service experience, particularly in culturally diverse settings
• Fluency in both English and at least one local Ugandan language; knowledge of an additional international language is a plus
