Stanbic Bank Uganda is seeking an experienced Branch Manager to lead operations in Western Uganda. This is a senior role for a seasoned banking professional who can drive commercial growth, deliver outstanding customer service, and provide strategic leadership to a diverse branch team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business plan aligned with local market opportunities and identified ecosystems
- Deliver consistently high-quality customer service by effectively managing all branch resources including people, systems, and processes
- Take full accountability for the day-to-day management of all branch operations
- Champion a customer-centric culture focused on delivering positive, high-quality experiences
- Resolve customer queries and complaints within established timelines
- Create a warm, welcoming branch environment where customers feel valued and appreciated
- Treat all customers fairly and in accordance with financial consumer protection guidelines
- Build a strong network of key relationships within the branch’s local area of operation
- Lead multi-functional customer visits aligned with Branch Local Market Initiative plans
- Develop a thorough understanding of business segments operating within the local market
- Prepare the branch business development plan in line with identified local opportunities and ecosystems
- Deliver financial targets and drive sales activities in line with local market plans
- Foster a needs-led sales culture, coaching the team to deliver effective client solutions
- Proactively monitor internal controls to maintain acceptable operational and compliance risk levels

- First Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, or a related field
- ACCA certification or equivalent professional membership is an advantage
- Minimum of 5 years’ branch banking experience including income statement management and responsibility for sales and service
- Proven performance track record in financial sales and service delivery
- At least 3 years in a management role leading a diverse team with a demonstrable performance record
- Strong knowledge of banking processes and procedures, client acceptance and review, and banking product knowledge
- Behavioural competencies in practical problem solving, stakeholder persuasion, idea generation, and decisive decision-making
