True North Consult Ltd is hiring a Civil Engineer to oversee civil and structural quality on telecom site builds to Airtel standards. You will check designs, inspect works on site and keep vendors on track to deliver sites on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare daily site progress reports and update trackers
- Identify issues and gaps and suggest ways to resolve them
- Share project progress and plans with civil, power and RAN vendors and the project coordinator
- Follow up on vendor adherence to certification, permitting and approval processes
- Review and recommend electrical and civil designs and specifications
- Check concrete materials, earthing, steelwork, concrete mix grades and tower erection against designs
- Inspect power, electrical, RAN, fibre and microwave works and health and safety standards
- Inspect and approve tower structures and general site acceptance
- Supervise vendors, manage RFIs and keep delivery timelines
- Run progress meetings and help choose candidate site locations to avoid variation costs
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- At least two years’ experience supervising civil works at telecom sites
- Ability to read and interpret structural design drawings and use CAD such as AutoCAD
- Good Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
- Professional, self-driven team player with attention to detail who can work under pressure and travel upcountry or work in the field
