Civil Supervisor

Mukwano Industries Limited, a cornerstone of Uganda’s manufacturing sector and one of East Africa’s leading FMCG groups, is seeking a Civil Supervisor to lead construction and masonry activities at their Kampala sites. This is a hands-on supervisory position within a stable, growth-oriented organisation known for its diverse product range and commitment to operational quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the daily work of construction masons
• Coordinate activities with subcontractors and other project stakeholders
• Allocate tasks to masons and casual labourers in line with project requirements
• Establish methods to meet work schedules and coordinate with relevant departments, subcontractors, and managers
• Identify and resolve work problems, recommending measures to improve productivity and quality
• Order materials and supplies as required for ongoing construction activities
• Arrange training for workers on job duties, safety procedures, and company policies
• Maintain and enforce safe working conditions across all sites
• Liaise with contracted construction firms as directed by the Civil Works Officer
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the Civil Works Officer

Requirements

• Ordinary Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field (preferred)
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in project or site supervision
• Experience in industrial or infrastructure projects is a strong advantage
• Strong leadership and supervision skills
• Clear, effective communication and reporting abilities
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Sound problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Good time management and organisational skills
