C-Care is recruiting a Clinical Manager to take charge of clinical governance, operations, and team leadership across its inpatient, theatre, and critical care services in Gulu. This full-time role places the successful candidate at the centre of clinical authority at the facility, ensuring care meets the highest standards of safety, quality, and patient-centredness as required by COHSASA, the Ministry of Health, and WHO International Patient Safety Goals (IPSGs).
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the implementation of COHSASA standards, WHO IPSGs, and clinical protocols across all inpatient and surgical services
- Oversee incident management processes including root cause analysis, mortality reviews, and corrective action tracking
- Promote a culture of patient safety, accountability, and continuous quality improvement across all clinical areas
- Manage infection prevention and control, antimicrobial stewardship, and medication safety across wards and theatre
- Coordinate day-to-day inpatient and critical care operations, managing patient flow, consultant schedules, and theatre planning
- Monitor theatre efficiency metrics and ensure emergency response systems are prepared and effective
- Lead regular clinical audits of records, consent documentation, medication charts, and theatre paperwork
- Mentor, supervise, and develop medical officers and clinical teams through targeted training and performance management
- Analyse performance data and prepare weekly and monthly reports highlighting outcomes, incidents, and improvement actions
- Collaborate with Finance and Management to align clinical operations with sustainable service delivery
- Monitor utilisation of theatre supplies, medications, and consumables to control waste

- Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from a recognised university
- Valid practising licence and registration with the relevant medical council
- Minimum of three years of progressive post-internship clinical leadership experience
- Background in inpatient care, theatre services, emergency systems, and/or critical care
- Solid knowledge of COHSASA, IPC standards, and WHO IPSG requirements
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills
- Ability to lead teams effectively in high-pressure clinical environments
- Openness to digital health systems and evidence-based innovation
