C-Care is seeking an experienced and strategically minded Clinical Manager to lead inpatient, theatre, and critical care services at its Mbale facility. This is a senior clinical leadership role carrying full accountability for safe, high-quality, and patient-centred care delivery, in alignment with COHSASA accreditation standards, Ministry of Health regulations, and WHO International Patient Safety Goals (IPSGs).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation and ongoing monitoring of COHSASA service elements across inpatient, theatre, and critical care areas
- Ensure compliance with WHO IPSGs, clinical protocols, antimicrobial stewardship, and infection prevention and control practices
- Oversee incident reporting, root cause analyses, mortality reviews, clinical audits, and the execution of corrective action plans
- Manage day-to-day inpatient, theatre, and critical care operations to ensure safe, timely, and coordinated patient care
- Optimise patient flow from admission to discharge and coordinate consultant reviews, theatre scheduling, and critical care pathways
- Monitor theatre efficiency, case utilisation, and turnaround times to support operational performance
- Champion evidence-based clinical practice and regular audits of records, documentation, consent forms, and medication charts
- Provide leadership, supervision, and mentorship to inpatient medical officers and clinical teams
- Coordinate CME programmes, emergency drills, and competency development initiatives
- Prepare and submit regular performance reports, and use data to drive quality improvement and capacity planning
- Support financial stewardship by monitoring consumable and supply utilisation to reduce waste

- Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from a recognised university
- Valid practising licence and registration with the relevant medical council
- Minimum of three years of progressive clinical leadership experience following internship
- Demonstrated experience in inpatient care, theatre operations, emergency response, and/or critical care
- Strong understanding of COHSASA, IPC, and WHO IPSG accreditation standards
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive accountability and collaboration
- Competency in healthcare data analysis, performance reporting, and quality improvement methodologies
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
