Deputy Head Teacher

Kyotera District Local Government is seeking a qualified and experienced educator to fill the position of Deputy Head Teacher at one of its government schools. Working closely with the Head Teacher, the successful candidate will support school leadership and help maintain academic standards across the institution.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Teacher in the day-to-day administration and management of the school.
• Deputise for the Head Teacher during absences and carry out delegated management responsibilities.
• Oversee timetabling, curriculum delivery, and the professional development of teaching staff.
• Monitor pupil attendance, discipline, and overall academic progress.
• Contribute to the preparation of school reports, budgets, and development plans.
• Engage with parents, the School Management Committee, and community stakeholders to support school objectives.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Education or an equivalent teaching qualification recognised by the District Service Commission.
• Demonstrated teaching experience and a track record of contributing to school administration.
• Leadership capability, strong interpersonal skills, and sound professional ethics.
