Dispenser – Mukono

C-Care, a respected healthcare provider operating across Uganda, Mauritius, and Madagascar, is hiring a Dispenser for its Mukono branch on a part-time basis. Key Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare, package, label, and dispense medications against validated prescriptions, following C-Care procedures and national standards
• Evaluate prescriptions and orders from patients and clinical staff against approved departmental protocols
• Confirm that all dispensed medicines correspond precisely to the prescription; liaise with prescribers when there is doubt about suitability, dosage, or labelling
• Advise patients on their treatment regimens and communicate relevant information to the wider care team
• Monitor the expiry dates of drugs and supplies, rotate stock as needed, and perform regular stock takes in wards, pharmacy cages, and storage areas
• Maintain cold-chain standards by checking and recording refrigerator temperatures routinely
• Keep thorough records of all dispensing activity using stock cards, Navision, and other approved documentation tools
• Screen for contraindications and potentially harmful drug interactions before dispensing
• Safely dispose of expired or unwanted pharmaceutical materials per standard operating procedures
• Support internal audits and quality assurance activities within the pharmacy unit

Requirements

• Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognised institution
• Active registration with the Uganda Allied Health Professionals Council
• A minimum of one year of hands-on dispensing experience
• Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and a compassionate approach to patient interaction
• Organisational skills for stock management and accurate record-keeping
