The International Foundation for Recovery and Development (IFRAD) is seeking experienced District Coordinators for the YEELD Program — a five-year Mastercard Foundation-supported initiative aimed at improving the economic well-being of financially disadvantaged youth aged 18–35 through livestock value chains across the Teso, Bukedi, and Ankole sub-regions of Uganda. The District Coordinator will lead project implementation at the district level, supervising field officers and nurturing strong partnerships with local governments, private sector actors, and community structures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate district-level project activities in line with approved work plans and donor requirements
  • Supervise and mentor Project Officers and Community-Based Trainers through regular field visits
  • Monitor progress against project targets and prepare timely district reports
  • Represent the project in district coordination meetings, technical working groups, and stakeholder forums
  • Build productive working relationships with local governments, cooperatives, youth groups, and NGO partners
  • Support data collection, monitoring activities, and documentation of success stories and lessons learned
  • Assist with district-level budgeting, resource accountability, and compliance with organizational policies
  • Mobilize and strengthen producer groups, youth groups, and women’s groups to promote community ownership
  • Promote entrepreneurship, financial literacy, agribusiness, and climate resilience activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Development Studies, Project Planning & Management, Agriculture, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Economics, Entrepreneurship, or a related field
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in project coordination, community development, or donor-funded programming
  • Proven experience supervising field teams and coordinating district-level project activities
  • Strong background in stakeholder engagement and partnership development
  • Prior experience on youth or women’s economic empowerment, livelihoods, or agribusiness programs is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with the assigned district and the Teso regional context is highly preferred
  • Strong communication, report writing, and organizational skills
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital reporting tools
  • Valid motorcycle riding permit is required
