Electrical Technician

Acacia Foundation Limited, a Ugandan manufacturer of plastic bottles, preforms, caps and shrink film, is hiring an experienced Electrical Technician at its Matugga site in Wakiso District to keep production equipment reliable and safe.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine, preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical equipment and machinery.
• Inspect, maintain and repair motors, pumps, compressors, heaters, contactors, relays, circuit breakers and control panels.
• Troubleshoot circuits, wiring, sensors, limit switches and motor control systems, and assist with VFDs, soft starters and PLCs.
• Inspect installations and cabling for wear, overheating and loose connections, and test that safety devices work.
• Keep maintenance records and support machine installation, commissioning, relocation and electrical upgrades.
• Follow electrical safety and company health, safety and environmental policies.

Requirements

• A diploma in electrical engineering, electrical installation, industrial electrical maintenance or a related field.
• Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, sensors, temperature controllers and industrial automation.
• Strong fault-finding skills and the ability to read electrical drawings and use testing equipment such as multimeters and insulation testers.
• Ability to work under pressure and in shifts, with good communication and attention to safety.
