Facilities Coordinator

Raising The Village, an international development organisation working to lift communities out of ultra-poverty, is hiring a Facilities Coordinator in Kampala. The role sits in the Operations team, reports to the Operations Manager and involves about 70% travel. It covers procurement, logistics, facilities, assets, fleet and warehouse support so that programmes run smoothly and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the purchase of goods, services and works within approved budgets, including requests for quotations, purchase orders, supplier evaluation and negotiation.
• Arrange transport, deliveries and logistics for field activities, staff movements, meetings and events.
• Receive, store, record and issue stock, keep stock registers, and run regular stock counts and reconciliations.
• Maintain the asset register, including tagging, allocation, transfers, verification and disposal.
• Manage vehicle scheduling, servicing, logbooks, fuel records, insurance and accident reporting.
• Keep offices safe, clean and functional, and supervise service providers for repairs, utilities, cleaning and security.
• Track spending against budgets, keep proper records, support audits and report suspected fraud, theft or misuse of resources.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in procurement and supply chain management, logistics, business administration, commerce, finance, operations management or a related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in procurement, logistics, administration, supply chain or operations management.
• Experience managing procurement, suppliers, assets, fleet, facilities or warehouses.
• NGO or development-sector experience is highly desirable; a professional procurement or supply chain qualification is an added advantage.
• Willingness to travel frequently (about 70% of the time).
