Head Teacher

Kyotera District Local Government is inviting applications for the position of Head Teacher. This is a senior leadership role in the district’s public school system, responsible for the overall academic, administrative, and pastoral management of a government school.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and management of the school, ensuring a high-quality learning environment for all pupils.
• Supervise and appraise teaching and support staff in line with public service requirements.
• Implement and uphold national curriculum standards and Ministry of Education guidelines.
• Manage school resources, finances, and infrastructure responsibly and transparently.
• Maintain accurate school records including enrolment, attendance, and examination results.
• Build positive relationships with parents, the School Management Committee, and the wider community.
• Report to the District Education Officer and participate in district-level education planning activities.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Education, or an equivalent teaching qualification recognised by the District Service Commission.
• Significant classroom and school management experience as specified by the Uganda Public Service.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Integrity and a commitment to educational excellence and the welfare of learners.
