Hr Beyond Limits is recruiting a Human Resource Officer to serve as the primary HR contact for employees across both the plant floor and corporate office at its Mukono facility. This generalist role covers the full employee lifecycle with particular emphasis on employee relations, statutory compliance, payroll administration, and learning and development within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for employee grievances, disciplinary matters, and workplace conflict resolution, ensuring HR policies are applied fairly and consistently.
- Monitor compliance with labour laws, occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations, and internal company policies; advise management on changes to employment legislation.
- Manage disciplinary and dismissal procedures in line with legal requirements; conduct employee investigations and document findings with recommended corrective actions.
- Collaborate with supervisors and shift managers to sustain a positive and productive workplace culture.
- Coordinate end-to-end payroll processing with the Finance Department, ensuring accurate and timely payments for permanent, shift-based, and contract staff.
- Maintain payroll records covering overtime, shift allowances, deductions, and statutory contributions (NSSF, PAYE, etc.), and administer employee benefits including health insurance and leave entitlements.
- Respond to payroll-related employee enquiries and support periodic salary benchmarking exercises.
- Conduct Training Needs Assessments (TNAs) with departmental heads and identify skills gaps across production, quality assurance, and support functions.
- Design, coordinate, and evaluate training programmes including safety inductions, technical skills training, and leadership development; maintain all training records and compliance certifications.
- Monitor and report Learning and Development KPIs such as training hours, completion rates, and post-training performance outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR databases; prepare headcount, turnover, absenteeism, and training reports as required.
- Support the development and review of HR policies and procedures; coordinate employee performance appraisal cycles and guide managers on performance management best practice.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive human resources experience.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or FMCG environment is preferred.
- Proven track record in managing employee relations cases and conducting disciplinary hearings.
- Hands-on experience with payroll processing, statutory contributions, and employee benefits administration.
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing training and development programmes.
- Strong working knowledge of Ugandan labour law and statutory compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
