Laboratory Technician

Kyotera District Local Government is recruiting a skilled Laboratory Technician to support health service delivery within the district. This is a public sector role within the district health system, requiring technical competence, accuracy, and professionalism in laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory tests and analyses as requested by clinical staff to support patient diagnosis and treatment.
• Maintain and operate laboratory equipment in good working order, following safety and standard operating procedures.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of laboratory results and records.
• Manage laboratory supplies and contribute to the procurement of reagents and consumables.
• Maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment in compliance with infection prevention and control guidelines.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Health Facility In-Charge or District Health Officer.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Medical Laboratory Science or Technology, as required by the District Service Commission.
• Registration with the Allied Health Professionals Council of Uganda is an advantage.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and a commitment to quality patient care.
