WWF Uganda Country Office (UCO) is an independent conservation organisation working to protect and restore natural habitats, halt wildlife extinction, and promote sustainable production and consumption. WWF UCO is recruiting two Monitoring and Evaluation Officers to support its Forestry, Freshwater, and Wildlife programmes, working closely with the Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (PMEL) Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of project-specific monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
- Coordinate M&E activities in line with WWF Network standards, UCO M&E strategy, and project implementation plans.
- Collate, analyse, and consolidate monitoring data, and prepare timely project reports using established monitoring tools.
- Conduct periodic field monitoring visits and consultations, encouraging active stakeholder participation.
- Track recommendations from studies, management reviews, donor visits, and evaluations and report on follow-up actions.
- Lead the implementation of Environmental Safeguards and Social Framework (ESSF) mitigation measures at field level.
- Support digital data collection and assist implementing partners in timely data analysis.
- Carry out periodic data quality assessments for assigned conservation projects.
- Assess M&E capacity needs of project staff and partners and support capacity-building activities accordingly.
- Document results, best practices, and lessons learned from programme activities for dissemination across teams.
- Contribute to knowledge management, adaptive management processes, and programme learning forums.

- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Development Studies, Economics, Public Health, Environmental Sciences, Project Management, GIS, or a related field.
- A postgraduate diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation or Project Management is mandatory.
- A master’s degree in a relevant field is an added advantage.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in monitoring and evaluating environmental or conservation projects.
- Sound knowledge of M&E methodologies, results-based management, and participatory approaches.
- Proficiency in GIS tools and data analysis software such as Power BI and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong technical report writing skills and excellent written and spoken English.
- Prior NGO or international organisational experience is an advantage.
