With a team of over 350 professionals across Uganda, Rwanda, DRC, and Tanzania, RTV has positively transformed the lives of more than one million people since 2012. This Project Assistant role is based in Kitagwenda and involves extensive fieldwork — approximately 90% travel — supporting community-based livelihood and poverty reduction programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate project design review meetings with partner villages and provide feedback to update designs and budgets before implementation.
  • Coordinate and co-facilitate training activities covering financial literacy, behaviour change, water and sanitation, village savings and loans associations (VSLAs), agriculture, livestock management, and health outreaches.
  • Implement RTV’s project methodologies to increase household incomes and reduce extreme poverty in line with approved project designs.
  • Develop and submit procurement lists for required goods and services to the logistics officer, and verify inputs prior to community distribution.
  • Conduct follow-up visits with community groups and households to ensure project compliance, continuation, and sustainability.
  • Identify risks and propose practical mitigation and improvement measures.
  • Hold regular meetings with community leadership to review performance, participation, and perceptions of RTV interventions.
  • Develop and manage work plans; prepare weekly field reports and support donor reporting and proposal writing as needed.
  • Attend weekly staff and cluster team meetings, and submit accurate weekly financial accountabilities to the Project Manager.
  • Provide actionable recommendations to the Project Officer and Project Manager on improving RTV’s methodologies and suggest new or revised activities for greater impact.
