Project Supervisor

Mukwano Industries Limited, a leading FMCG conglomerate in East Africa with interests across manufacturing, agriculture, and property development, is seeking a competent Project Supervisor to oversee construction and engineering activities at their Kampala sites. This is an ideal opportunity for a practical, hands-on professional with solid experience in site supervision within industrial or infrastructure environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise all on-site project activities and the workforce assigned to each project
• Ensure all work is executed in strict accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and project plans
• Monitor contractor and labour performance throughout each phase of work
• Assist with planning and scheduling project tasks to maintain clear timelines
• Ensure the timely completion of all assigned project milestones
• Coordinate the supply of materials, tools, and equipment needed for operations
• Maintain quality standards and ensure all work meets defined specifications
• Conduct routine site inspections and punch listing of works and installations
• Report and coordinate the rectification of defects or non-conformities
• Enforce all site safety rules and company policies, ensuring correct use of PPE by all workers
• Report and investigate on-site incidents or near-misses promptly
• Prepare daily and weekly progress reports and track work against project schedules
• Escalate delays, risks, and issues to the relevant Engineering Officers
• Liaise effectively with contractors, suppliers, and other internal departments
• Monitor material usage and drive efforts to reduce wastage
• Supervise labour allocation and manage workforce productivity
• Ensure tools and equipment are properly handled and maintained
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the Engineering Officers

Requirements

• Ordinary Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
• 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in project or site supervision
• Experience in industrial or infrastructure projects is a strong advantage
• Strong leadership and supervision skills
• Good communication and reporting abilities
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Sound problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
