Didier Deschamps to miss France’s game against Norway following death of his mother

France Head Coach Didier Deschamps has been granted permission to leave the team camp following the death of his mother Ginette Deschamps on Tuesday.
The decision was confirmed by the French Football Federation (FFF) with the President Philippe Diallo allowing the gaffer to fly back to France to attend the funeral.
In his absence, assistant coach Guy Stephan will take charge of the final group game against Norway slated for Friday.

See how it works“At this incredibly painful time, we wish the head coach great strength and assure him of everyone’s support,” the FFF said, adding that assistant coach Guy Stéphan will take temporary charge of the squad – including for Friday’s game in Massachusetts until Deschamps returns.
