Nina Roz REFUSES to Move Her Show for Konshens, Lugogo Showdown On

Nina Roz is not moving. Not for Konshens, not for anybody.

Her debut solo concert is set for December 11 at Lugogo Hockey Grounds. Same night, over at Lugogo Cricket Oval, Jamaica’s dancehall king headlines Vibe Republic. Nina’s response? She’s confident her fans will turn up. Date stays.

Ballsy. For a debut, very ballsy.

Who Blinks First?

Sqoop says Kabako has gone straight to Swangz Avenue, the camp behind the Konshens show, and asked them to move it. New Vision has Nina unhappy with Swangz too. So far? Nobody’s budged.

And Swangz has company in its corner. Vibe Republic pairs Konshens with South African amapiano boss DJ Maphorisa, and it’s pitched to fans from Kenya, Tanzania and beyond. That’s a regional tourism party, not a show that shuffles dates because someone asked nicely.

Konshens Already Had Money on His Mind

Funny timing. Five days before the clash went public, Konshens took to X to swat away critics who say he only loves East Africa for the cheques.

“East Africa don’t pay me the most, they LOVE me the Most” (Konshens on X)

He pointed to receipts of his own: his Gamululu collab with A Pass and remixes with regional acts. Sweet words. They also land right as he’s about to go head to head with a hometown debut for the same December shilling.

Oh, and Chameleone Got the Same Ask

Nina’s not the only one in a December standoff.

Jose Chameleone is booked at Lugogo Cricket Oval on December 4. Chris Evans has his own show the same night at Front Page Hotel, and Sqoop reports Evans has asked Chameleone’s organisers to change the date so they’re not fighting over the same crowd.

Asking the Leone Island boss to move? Good luck with that.

Especially since the Oval show already comes with drama. King Michael went on Galaxy TV and called Chameleone untrustworthy with money, saying he helped connect Chameleone with promoter Biggie for this very Lugogo concert and got brushed aside.

THE RECEIPTS

  • Oct 20: Vibe Republic announced. Konshens and DJ Maphorisa, Lugogo Cricket Oval, December 11.
  • Oct 21: King Michael fires shots at Chameleone over the Lugogo show money.
  • Oct 22: Konshens posts that East Africa “LOVE me the Most”.
  • Oct 27: Nina Roz refuses to move her December 11 debut.
  • Oct 28: Chris Evans asks Chameleone’s camp to shift December 4.

Why Everyone’s Sweating

December in Kampala is one crowd with one bonus cheque. Every clash splits the gate, and the sponsors want a full field for their banners. Two big Oval nights a week apart, and a rival booked right on top of each one. Somebody’s going to be counting empty seats.

December 11. Two stages. One Lugogo. Pick a side.
