Communication Engineer (Telephony Systems)

Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited (UETCL) is hiring a Communication Engineer (Telephony Systems).

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and carry out maintenance schedules for telephony systems, PABXs, session border controllers, voice recorders and the network management system
• Design, install, configure and maintain VoIP, SIP and radio communication systems
• Maintain voice communication networks for the National Control Centre with high availability

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication, Electrical or Electronic Engineering from a recognised university
• Hands-on proficiency in VoIP, SIP PABX systems, SBCs, voice recorders and radio communication systems
• TCP/IP network design and troubleshooting, with QoS expertise for voice traffic
• Skills in securing voice gateways (ACLs, IPsec VPN, encryption)
