Save the Children, a leading international humanitarian organisation, is recruiting a Driver based in Kyegegwa. The role involves safely transporting staff, goods and documents while keeping assigned vehicles well maintained and compliant — an important support role in the organisation’s field operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive organisation vehicles to transport staff, materials and documents safely and on schedule.
- Carry out pre-trip vehicle checks (oil, water, brake fluid, belts and tyres).
- Keep accurate mileage logs and submit monthly vehicle reports in Excel.
- Maintain vehicle tools and safety equipment (spare wheel, jack, first-aid kit, fire extinguisher).
- Report mechanical faults to your supervisor promptly.
- Ensure road licences and insurance remain valid.
- Observe traffic laws and Save the Children's security and safety protocols.
- Support staff and visitors and conduct yourself professionally at all times.

- O-Level (Uganda Certificate of Education).
- At least 5 years' relevant driving experience, ideally with international NGOs.
- A valid driving licence (Classes DM, DL, CM, B held for at least 3 years).
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Competency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Familiarity with local routes and NGO operations; willingness to work in remote areas.
