LifeNet International is a faith-aligned organisation committed to building stronger health systems for underserved communities by working hand-in-hand with faith-based health centres across Uganda. They are seeking a Ugandan national to serve as Program Manager, a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all health system strengthening activities in the country. The Program Manager will join the Uganda Senior Leadership Team and shape both strategy and day-to-day programme delivery across a network of partner health facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the annual planning, budgeting, and implementation cycle for all LifeNet Uganda programmes, ensuring capacity-building activities are delivered to a high standard.
- Facilitate and coordinate in-house refresher training for Trainer staff so that mentorships and centralised training sessions remain consistently delivered.
- Work alongside the Country Director and technical teams to design and continuously refine programme approaches within Uganda’s evolving health landscape.
- Develop and keep current the annual, quarterly, and monthly programme work plans for effective implementation.
- Champion innovation and evidence-based improvement in programme design and delivery.
- Prepare accurate monthly and quarterly programme reports for the Country Director, ensuring alignment with donor requirements.
- Drive performance reviews, maintain accountability systems, and conduct regular field supervision of Trainer staff.
- Coach and mentor a multidisciplinary Trainer team, overseeing performance management, leave schedules, and professional development.
- Build and sustain strategic partnerships with health facilities, dioceses, districts, and other sub-national stakeholders.
- Represent LifeNet Uganda at technical working groups, conferences, and partner meetings as required.
- Support resource mobilisation through proposal development, grant writing, and identification of new funding opportunities.

- Medical degree (MBChB) from a recognised institution; a Master’s in Public Health, Health Services Management, Business Administration, Health Policy, or a related discipline is an added advantage.
- Minimum of eight years of progressive experience in healthcare delivery, health systems strengthening, or programme management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex multi-disciplinary programmes and diverse stakeholder relationships.
- Deep understanding of Uganda’s health system, including health financing, human resources for health, and quality improvement.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate evidence into strategic decisions.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
- Proven track record of delivering results under competing priorities and tight timelines.
