Lapaire is hiring an Optometrist or Ophthalmic Clinical Officer for one of its optical centres in Kampala. You will carry out vision tests and help customers understand which eyeglasses suit their needs, working with the Branch Manager, the Area and Operations Manager and the sales representatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct vision tests with potential clients using digital and analogue tools.
- Identify potential vision problems and explain clearly how eyeglasses can help.
- Carry out refraction and other vision tests on patients at the branch or in the field.
- Manage lens deliveries and check that they match orders.
- Make sure lenses are properly mounted on frames.
- Manage delivery of eyeglasses to customers.
Requirements
- A degree or diploma in Optometry, Ophthalmic Clinical Training or Ophthalmology (or about to graduate).
- At least 6 months of experience in a similar role, including employment, internship or clinical rotation.
- Previous professional experience as an optometrist is highly appreciated.
- Sales and marketing skills are an advantage.
- Comfort with new technology, including mobile apps and software on phone and computer.
- Empathy, energy, discipline, good time management and a team spirit.
