Joshua Baraka to King Saha: You Want a Pond, I Want to Be a SHARK

King Saha told Joshua Baraka to forget the international dream. Baraka’s answer came back within a day: “I want to be a shark.”

Not a king of the pond, he says. King of the ocean. Ouch.

Saha’s “Advice”

It started on Sunday, November 1, on a TikTok Live. Saha said that when he sees Baraka he’ll tell him the global chase is “a long game” and “not worth it.”

His case: breaking abroad takes a huge budget and comes with no guarantee. He also told the people around Baraka to stop cheering and start being honest. Translation: your circle is hyping you.

Saha sounds like a man who has said this before. Big Eye notes he made similar points in 2025 about satisfying home audiences first.

Baraka Does Not Do Gentle

The reply is where it gets spicy. Baraka called the mindset of some established musicians “very shallow” and said it’s sad that people they’re meant to look up to think like that.

“They want to be kings of the pond. Me, I want to be the king of an ocean.” (Joshua Baraka)

Then he went biblical. Matooke Republic has him saying that if Jesus had stayed in Nazareth, he wouldn’t be heard as widely as he is now.

Comparing your Tiwa Savage single to the Sermon on the Mount is a lot of confidence. We respect it.

He also asked why he should dream only of being Uganda’s biggest artiste. And no, he’s not calling it a beef: why fight a man who wants to be king of Uganda when you want to be king of the world?

The Money Question

Saha’s whole point is about cash, so here’s Baraka’s side of the ledger. He dropped Commando with Tiwa Savage on October 30, and put General and VIP tickets on discount for his November 28 concert, Into the B’raka Land, until Sunday night.

Tiwa’s first Ugandan collab is a real flex. A ticket promo four weeks out is a different kind of signal. Guess which one Saha is looking at.

Baraka has also been preaching about money. Days earlier, he told KIIS FM that dollar-billionaire status is overrated. Shark with a conscience. Bold branding.

Who Wins This One?

Both, probably. Saha gets to be the blunt elder with the home crowd on his side. Baraka gets a viral line to hang a concert on.

November 28. Into the B’raka Land. We’ll see whose pond it is.
